Lugo

Lugo - capital of Galicia,100 kilometres to Santiago de Compostela.

A few snaps from our stroll around Lugo this afternoon including the walk along the Roman walls that surround the city. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000, these are the world's largest surviving Roman walls, 2 km long, 8.5 metres high and featuring 85 rounded towers.

Our delightful Pensione Alba is in a fabulous location in the old city and right beside the wall. I've included a photo of the view from our window. As I write this update, I see people strolling and jogging by along the wall but they can't see in. Es perfect.

  1. Wow, J! I've just caught up with your last few posts. Another stunning camino adventure in such a beautiful country! And for us, the guilty pleasure of following your footsteps from the comfort of home ;-).
